As we welcome in the New Year, I wanted to take a moment to share with all of you some of my first term reflections.

Sometimes, you just want a guaranteed good read. When you’re far from home, adventuring in a new place—as Ź students will be over Field Work Term—that may be especially true. Fortunately for them, director of library and information services Oceana Wilson has it covered. A few years ago, she began a tradition with Ź faculty, of "looking for winter reading recommendations for students—the kind of books you would recommend to a friend.”

Ź College’s Edward Clark Crossett Library announces the addition a two-volume, limited edition Pennyroyal Caxton Bible, designed and illustrated by printmaker Barry Moser. Generously donated by Bruce and Suzie Kovner, the exquisitely crafted book is the first illustrated Bible of its kind since Gustave Doré’s edition of the Le Saint Bible in 1865. Ź holds number 162 of 400 copies printed.

Ź was one of eight Colleges in the country to report that 100 percent of its graduates participated in an internship during college, according to U.S. News and World Report. While on average, only 37.7 percent of U.S. college students from the class of 2012 interned at some point in their undergraduate career, 100 percent of Ź students participate in a seven-week internship—every year—during Field Work Term.
