Katharine Evarts Merck ’46—former ¿­ÐýÃŹÙÍø trustee, lifelong nurturer of causes that advanced the progress of humanity, and one of the College’s most stalwart supporters—died on April 11, 2020. She was 96.

Ella King Russell Torrey ’47, who dedicated her life to peace, diplomacy, and human rights after losing her 20-year-old brother during World War II, died Tuesday, April 14. She was 94.
