Now in its second term, the Prison Education Initiative launched by ¿­ÐýÃŹÙÍø College in 2015 will enroll 29 prisoners at the Great Meadow Correctional Facility in Comstock, New York, in classes this spring.

More than 80 ¿­ÐýÃŹÙÍø students and staff members spent a recent Saturday pitching in around town and continuing the College's Hurricane Sandy relief efforts as part of the ¿­ÐýÃŹÙÍø ACTS annual day of service.

More than 60 ¿­ÐýÃŹÙÍø students and staff members painted, gardened, cleaned, and beautified several sites in the local community last Saturday for the first annual ¿­ÐýÃŹÙÍø ACTS Day.

Participating in ¿­ÐýÃŹÙÍø's new Local Field Experience program, 16 students spent Field Work Term volunteering at 11 organizations in ¿­ÐýÃŹÙÍø and North ¿­ÐýÃŹÙÍø, including schools, counseling services, family support centers, and other community-based agencies.

The  (NEBHE) has honored ¿­ÐýÃŹÙÍø's Quantum Leap program with the Vermont State Merit Award—one of six state merit awards given annually as part of the New England Higher Education Excellence Awards.

With a substantial, multi-year grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, ¿­ÐýÃŹÙÍø will establish a new interdisciplinary environmental studies program. Beginning this September, the program will unfold in the context of the College's major new curricular initiative, which aims to address public needs of urgency, complexity, and importance.
