College and Community Collaboration Grants
Two students were recently awarded the first two Fund for North ¿ÐýÃŹÙÍø College and Community Collaboration grants, which are intended to increase community benefits between the College and the Village of North ¿ÐýÃŹÙÍø.
Sarah Goone '16 was awarded funding which allowed her to hold a puppet show, Hero, based on Joseph Campbell’s writings about the Hero’s Journey. Sarah’s efforts over the last year have included offering free puppet-building workshops at Vermont Arts Exchange and working with middle school students at Highland Hall School.
Michaela Milligan '19 will use the funding to host a China Night on Wednesday, June 1 at 5:30 pm at the Village School. Michaela has been teaching Chinese language, history, and culture to sixth-grade students at the Village School of North ¿ÐýÃŹÙÍø over the past year. On Wednesday, the students will show what they have learned, with songs and dances, and a movie screening. They will also introduce foods from a traditional family-style Chinese dinner for all attendees to enjoy.
