Thesis Forms: Thinking Partner 2
Course Description
Summary
The record of the processes and research practices take shape in the writing and designing of the artist’s book. The Research as Actions are discussed and planned. These actions are shared informally and at the conclusion of the term.
Each graduate student in the program completes a final thesis as the culmination of their work towards the MFA degree. The thesis takes two forms: an artist’s book and a public project, Research as Action. In each case, the thesis represents a synthesis of the student’s accumulated knowledge and skill and an opportunity to display the ideas, practices and skills learned through the program. The thesis is intended to display the student’s ability to go beyond the mere collection of information into synthesis, analysis, judgment and interpretation. Thinking Partners work in support of the student’s progress and process.
