Course Description

Summary

What actually goes on when performing? Your interior environment changes from moment to moment; things change in the exterior environment as well. We process information from the audience as we perform. We constantly adapt. Creating a score for performance requires attention to detail – movement and space, timing, shifts of focus, intention, repetition, surprise, juxtaposition, and duration, among other elements. We will uncover and unpack the what and the how. In this course, each student will create a series of short works and explore multiple ways they can be performed. Students from different disciplines are welcome.
