Course System Home Terms Spring 2022 Beyond Plastic Pollution

Course Description

Summary

This is a public policy class, with a focus on public action.  Plastic pollution is an important issue that requires a systemic response, far beyond individual consumer choices. Readings and discussion will be on the latest cutting edge information on this topic. The class will explore the dimensions of the production, use, and disposal of plastics (often in low income communities and communities of color).  There will be extensive discussion on the climate change nexus and what may be driving market changes.  In the spirit of the Center for Advancement of Public Action, much of the assigned work will include taking public action. Please note: this class is entirely remote. Students will need access to Zoom.
