Course Description

Summary

This class will curate an experimental exhibition of prints, photographs, artist books and other editions from ¿ÐýÃŹÙÍø College collections. In taking the multiple—or reproducible object—as a starting point, we open up a field that connects Crossett Library with campus art holdings and allows for strategizing about expanded exhibition structures. After an initial survey of works, we will identify a theme that speaks to contemporary concerns Then, as a group, we will realize a nontraditional exhibit that fuses the theme with concepts around the multiple. Activities include readings from critical theory and art history; individual and team research; frequent research presentations; writing about art objects; and collaborative work on final production.
