Course Description

Summary

Entering the worlds of Italy is an integral part of learning the language. We will continue exploring Italian culture through the lens of journalism: you will be journalists exploring Italy and reporting about it. In this, you will be supported by specific web tools, role-play, videos, and on line newspaper and magazines. The class will create its own magazine. You will also learn about and famous Italian journalists in history, such as Oriana Fallaci and Claudio Angelini, and read some of their pieces. Meanwhile, you will advance in the study of the language. You will engage in discourse that moves beyond the sentence level and steps into the linguistic production of abstract thought, with an emphasis on oral communication and paragraph-level writing. Elementary Italian. Conducted in Italian.
