Course Description

Summary

This seven week intensive class will be focused on understanding some basic methods for working with plaster. We will take a look at variety of gypsum products to understand their similarities and differences. Plaster has an amazing way of mimicking life. In this class, we will learn the states at which plaster transforms and use our hands to open our minds to the endless ways of working and building with the plaster. In this hands on seven week intensive course you will be taken through the processes of working with plaster and understand the methods and techniques for the safe handling of those processes. This is a project based class with a focus on an active studio practice. Your grade will reflect the dedication to each task. (milk, whipping cream, butter, peanut butter, and soap).
