Course Description

Summary

This is an intermediate production course that will explore experimental narrative structures in film and video art practices. Emphasis will be on analyzing innovative storytelling in film and literary forms as we examine aspects of dramatic production: mise-en-scene, working with actors, script breakdown, storyboards and collaborative production units. Students will be required to make a series of short projects investigating experimental dramatic structure, discontinuity in editing, unreliable narrators, etc. The course will involve screenings and analysis of film and video art as we develop our visual vocabulary and expression. The assignments, screenings and readings will culminate in a final video project. Registration: Office hours W 1-2PM will email acceptance by 11/27
