Course Description

Summary

In a collaborative effort between ¿ÐýÃŹÙÍø College and two Mount Anthony Union High School programs (the Quantum Leap Exhibit Program and the Bridges Summer Transitional Program), the Sababa Project ( a joint classroom for ¿ÐýÃŹÙÍø College and MAUHS students) attempts to demystify the college experience while providing high school students with hands-on, real-world, academic experiences.  This class will begin by examining John Dewey's theory of education, how it influenced ¿ÐýÃŹÙÍø College's Plan Process, and how experiential education is reflected in the Quantum Leap Exhibit program at MAUHS. Dewey had a commitment to educating youth for a civil society and a democracy.  Collaborative group projects between college and high school students will be required.
