Live Sound - Load In to Load Out

MSR4368.01
Course System Home Terms Fall 2024 Live Sound - Load In to Load Out

Course Description

Summary

Students will learn all the ways the audio travels through cables, into processing equipment, through amplification and out of speakers. Processors will include compression, EQ, delay, reverb, and crossovers. Students will learn about different live sound contexts, from the band gig to theater sound, and will be setting up and breaking down small sound systems. There will be some rote memorization in this course, because the live sound world moves fast, and knowing the options, solutions, and workarounds become your toolbelt. This is a smaller class so that students get time with the equipment.

Prerequisites

A paragraph (email Nick Brooke: nbrooke@bennington.edu) explaining your interest and need in this course, in relation to your plan, by 9/1; response will be given by 9/2.
