Course System Home Terms Fall 2023 Voice Performance Intensive

Course Description

Summary

Intense study of vocal technique and the interpretation of vocal repertoire, designed for advanced students who have music as a plan concentration and to assist graduating seniors with preparation for senior recitals. Students will increase their knowledge of vocal technique and learn a varied spectrum of vocal repertory for performance and as preparation for further study or graduate school. A class maximum of five voice students will meet as a group and show work in a performance class, and also receive private lessons with the instructor each week (to be scheduled with the instructor). Students will also have an individual half-hour session with a pianist each week to work on repertory. The performance part of this class will be held on Tuesdays, from 2:10PM-4:00PM, with additional voice lessons to be scheduled between the faculty and student.

Prerequisites

Two terms of Intermediate Voice and/or permission of instructor (contact: kryer-parke@bennington.edu). Preference given to students planning Advanced Work in Voice, or with Music in their Plan.
