Course Description

Summary

Composers who sing (or would like to), singers who compose (or would like to), songwriters who would like to stop singing alone, writers who would like to hear their writings sung (and maybe sing some too) and anyone who's always wanted to learn how to shape music for a vocal group---this class is for you. We will compose, rehearse and then perform our own repertoire in several live concert effusions through the term. Fun, hard work, and more fun. Please note, for fall 2021: This course will be taught both remotely and in-person. The instructor will begin remote while the class meets in a room together, conditions permitting. If conditions do not permit, we will remedy with an online and recorded approach. For students who must remain remote, that approach will be made available no matter what. Assuming the best, Brazelton will visit campus to coach the group intensively before midterm and final performances.
