Course System Home Terms Fall 2017 Morning Plainchant

Course Description

Summary

We sing together in the early morning. Every week. Public plainchant from the mass and private chants from the monastic Hours. Latin chants that celebrate Christian feasts, chants that echo songs from ancient Rome, chants that explode from the late medieval Cult of Mary, and its companion phenomenon, courtly love. As we sing we sense the breath and thought of thousands of chanters who sang long long ago. All are welcome. We sing together. Corequisites: Attendance at Music Workshop (6:30-8:00pm)
