Course Description

Summary

***Time Change*** This course is intended to strip away assumptions about clay and explore its raw potential as a sculptural medium. We will focus on non-traditional methods of working with the material, utilizing structural armatures, embracing unfired clay, experimenting with various additives, and non-ceramic surfaces. With an emphasis on experimentation and research students will expand their understanding of the possibilities of clay as well as the content imbued by the material through the traditions we borrow from and push against. This course will be offered the second seven weeks of term.
