Course Description
Summary
This course will utilize ¿ÐýÃŹÙÍø’s Piano Lab to explore and develop the skills and knowledge required to effectively play non-classical piano repertoire. Styles covered are: blues, reggae, salsa, bossa-nova and jazz. Students will take turns learning and playing bass lines, chord voicings, stylistic rhythms, melodies and improvised solos.Prerequisites
Basic piano skills and a rudimentary knowledge of music notation. Audition and/or permission of the instructor. Audition will be held Tuesday, May 7, 12 - 2:00pm in Jennings 136.
