The New York Times praised the down-and-out New York Philharmonic’s appointment of Deborah Borda ’71—“one of the most successful arts administrators in the nation”—as its new president and CEO.

The Los Angeles Times published an op-ed by Deborah Borda '71 in which she advocates for the end of Trump's immigration ban and for the power of the arts to teach compassion. 

Deborah Borda ’71 spoke Michael Eisner at the Aspen Ideas Festival about her work managing the LA Philharmonic Orchestra. She also spoke about why she chose to attend �����Ź��� College (after beginning her studies at a traditional music conservatory), citing �����Ź���'s high level of flexibility, and emphasis on entrepreneurship. She soon realized, in Eisner's words, "�����Ź��� would be better," and now advises musicians: “go to a liberal arts school” [9:40]. .

One of the largest gifts in the history of the Los Angeles Philharmonic was made in honor of alumna Deborah Borda ’71 to endow the organization’s top leadership position, which Borda has held since 2000.
